Treasure chests lie scattered throughout the
Kra'an dungeons. Some of them hide artifacts or other objects that may be
necessary to you on your quest. In addition to scattering and hiding their
valuables behind traps and puzzles, most chests are booby-trapped to prevent
outsiders from learning the cult's hidden secrets. When you encounter a chest,
you can ignore it and return to it later, or try one of three options to open
it: |
| |
|
|
- Open - Attempt to open the chest by
force. If you are lucky, the chest will not be booby-trapped, and you will be
able to open the treasure without being harmed.
- Pick
Lock - If you have a character in your party capable of picking locks,
use this menu option, then select a character to pick the lock. The pick lock
skill will show up in a character's spell menu (see the spell casting section
elsewhere in this document). A character's likelihood of successfully picking a
lock without setting off a trap increases as they gain levels.
- Trap
Zap - If you have a character in your party capable of casting the trap
zap spell, select this menu option, then select the character who you wish to
cast the spell. The trap zap spell has a good chance of safely disarming most
any trap before you attempt to open the chest. Like the pick lock skill, the
effectiveness of casting trap zap increase with the level of the
spell-caster.
